Mr. Al-Shamsi is MD - Asset Management at Dubai Group. He is responsible for overseeing and managing DG's investment portfolio companies. He has been with the Group since early 2001, and has investment experience across multiple asset classes. He was previously the Managing Director of Dubai Industrial, the industrial related investment arm for the Group. His earlier investment responsibilities have been across several key areas including public and private fund investments, real estate, and renewable energy.
Earlier in his career, Khalid has worked for HSBC Asset Management in London. He is a member of the Investment advisory board for Estithmaar Islamic Real Estate Fund, a joint venture between Dubai Group and Citi Group. He also serves on the boards of Essdar Capital, Acacia Real Estate, and Scotts Spazio PTE. LTD, Canar Telcom (Sudan), Sphinx Glass (Egypt), Somocer Ceramic (Tunis), and Lafarge Emirates Cement (UAE).
He graduated with a BSc (Honors) degree in Accounting, and International Business from the University of Louisville, USA, and has attended several management and finance-related courses in Singapore, London and New York.
